pans by spacedad

thanks for buying pans,your support is very much appreciated!

install:(windows only)
unzip and put the pans folder in your vstplugins folder.
it contains
pans.dll
pans-multi.dll
pans.txt

on first load each plugin will unpack the pan sample files into a self-named folder.
they needs these files to work.
if you loose them,they should unpack again if you reload the plugins.
all samples are from my kitchen.

use the 'help' button on the gui.

there are two verions;
'pans' is just a stereo version.
'pans-multi' has six seperate pairs of stereo outs.

on the most important controls,you can double click to reset to default.

the pitch and filter's 'height' kob will reverse the envelope if turned towards the left.

when using the reverse function you may need the corresponding release/decay settings to be 'long' enough
to hear them fade in.

i tried to pick midi notes from the general midi drum map that best matched my pans.or the layout anyway.

sample 1  = B0,C1               [35,36] Bass Drum (big pan_copper bottom)
sample 2 = D1                      [38] Acoustic Snare (poundshop_mini)
sample 3 = D#1                   [39] Hand Clap (meyer steamer_2)
sample 4 = E1                      [40] Electric Snare (meyer steamer_1)
sample 5 = F1                      [41] Low Floor Tom (meyer steamer_bottom)
sample 6 = F#1,G#1,A#1   [42,44,46] Open Hi-Hat (sainsbury saucepan_medium_lid)
sample 7 = G1,A2                [43,45] Low Tom  (sainsbury saucepan_medium)
sample 8 = B1,C2                [47,48] Hi-Mid Tom (sainsbury saucepan_small)
sample 9 = C#2                   [49] Crash Cymbal (big lid)
sample10 = D2                    [50] High Tom (sainsbury milkpan)
sample11 = D#2                  [51] Ride Cymbal (aluminium-lid)

nearly everything is automatable,if your host can do automation,that is.

disclaimer;
this plugin is supplied 'as is' and i give no guarantee of support or updates.
while every effort was made to ensure this plugin works as it should,
i can't guarantee it will work on every machine/host combo.
i tested it on winXP and Win7 in energyXT and it's working great.
hopefully you tested the demo version first and it worked fine on your setup.
i am not responsible for any damage to you,your computer or your pets.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
please note:

pans was built using v1.017 of synthedit.
there is a known bug with version 1.0xx of SynthEdit that affects some 'dualcore/multicore processors'
when loading more than one instance of the same plugin.
this seems to affect only some computer/vst host combinations.
i use energyXT which at the moment,is a single core host,so i don't get this problem.

a work-around is to copy the pans folder and rename each plugin folder to (for example) 'pans-B' and 'pans-multi-B',
then rename the pans.dll and pans-multi.dll and their folders that contain the files/samples to 'pans-B' and 'pans-multi-B' too.

this is only neccessary if you want to load more than one instance of pans and pans-multi on a multicore computer/host.
though why the heck you'd want to do that is beyond me.;)
